Unscripted Sketches #166

Just quickly popping in over the weekend to show you my very first card for Unscripted Sketches! After reading my friend Dawns blog, I hopped on over to Unscripted Sketches to see what they were all about and, upon realizing they are celebrating Christmas in July {hello, I love Christmas!}, I couldn’t wait to get started!! Here is this weeks sketch:

and this little Christmasey beauty is my take on the sketch..
I filled my card with October Afternoon, Papertrey Ink cardstock and burlap and am so happy with how it turned out! Probably one of the fastest cards to ever come together and that is exactly why I love sketches like these! They take the guesswork out and give you room to just play with colors and patterns.
The sketch made me want to layer my patterned papers but when I got to my centre embellishments, I just didn’t want to stop! So then came the burlap, patterned paper and cardstock sticker!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! If you are participating in this weeks sketch challenge, be sure to leave a comment below as I would love to check out your take on the sketch as well!! Have a great weekend everyone!

  • dawn - Hi Dawn,

What a cute card this is, love love all the little layers. Great Santa on the front!

I’m so glad you are excited about Christmas in July, it’s such a neat idea. How exciting to have something new each day to see about Christmas, can’t believe it’s almost 6 months away already.

Well, our camping didn’t go as well. We left at midnight to come home, even got lost coming home, I took a wrong turn. There was good parts and then not so good parts. The weather was just to hot for some of us, my hubby got a cold starting the night before and kicked in while at camp, EVERYBODY WAS THERE, SUPER PACKED which made swimming not so fun on this HOT HOT day.
Will be doing a post sometime this week about it and showing pictures. We might try to go another time this summer on a cooler weekend.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks again for doing Christmas in July with me and Tracey, so fuuuuuunnnn!!

    Enjoy your Sunday,
    Hugs,
    DawnReplyCancel
